How your quote works

Wedding and event hair is quoted for you and your party, after a consultation. Start by sending us an inspiration picture of the style you love, along with the date and how many people need hair done.

What shapes your quote:

  • The style. An updo with extensions takes longer than soft waves.
  • Your hair's length, thickness and condition. Long, dense hair takes more prep and more pins to hold all day.
  • The size of your party. Bride, bridesmaids, mothers and flower girls.

Deposit: parties of more than 3 pay a 10% deposit to hold the date.

Bridal party, mothers and flower girls

We style

  • The bride
  • Bridesmaids and the maid of honor
  • Mothers of the bride and groom, and grandmothers
  • Flower girls

Book someone else for

  • Makeup. We are a hair studio and do not offer makeup.
  • A party too large for our team on your date. Ask early and we will tell you honestly.

The hair trial

It is where we decide everything, so the morning of the wedding has no surprises.

  1. Bring the details

The inspiration picture you sent us, photos of other styles you love, a photo of your dress (especially the neckline and back), your veil or hairpiece, and earrings if you have them.

  2. Talk it through

We go over the venue, the weather, how long the day is and whether your hair will be up or down for the ceremony and the reception.

  3. Try the look

I style it, and we adjust: higher, softer, more volume, fewer pieces around the face.

  4. Lock it in

I take photos and notes of the final style, including the products and pins, so the wedding-day version matches.

  5. Plan the day

We set the timing for you and your party.

Your bridal hair timeline

A calm wedding morning is planned months before.

Making it last all day: the right prep (a blow-dry or set that gives the hair grip), pins placed to carry the weight, and a finishing spray. In Virginia Beach humidity, and at outdoor and beach weddings, I plan the style around the wind and the weather.

6 to 8 weeks before
Any big color change, so it has time to settle and be corrected if needed.
2 to 4 weeks before
Extensions, if you want more length or fullness, so they feel like yours by the day. See keratin hair extensions.
1 to 2 weeks before
A trim and gloss to freshen ends and shine.
The day before
Wash your hair, unless I tell you otherwise for your style. Most updos hold better on hair that is not freshly washed that morning.
The day
I build the schedule backward from your photos, with the bride styled with time to spare.

Wedding hair questions

Do you do bridal makeup?

No. Eugenia Hair Studio is a hair studio and does not offer makeup. Book your makeup artist separately, and share their timing with us so we can plan the morning together. Usually makeup and hair alternate, so neither one runs late.

Can I wear extensions for my wedding?

Yes. Extensions can give you a fuller updo or longer waves. Keratin bond extensions are a good choice for an updo because the bonds are small and lie flat.

Is a deposit required?

For parties of more than 3, yes: a 10% deposit holds your date.

Should I tip for bridal hair?

Tipping is your choice. 15 to 20 percent of the service is common in the US, and some couples add the tip for the whole party to the final payment.
